“It has been an absolute joy to journey with Anji in her pursuit of a soulmate. Sonee Singh has written an unputdownable novel that shares the hidden potential of relationships and life through a beautifully told story. Sonee’s engaging writing allowed me to easily play the book out in my mind as the conversations placed me there, right in that moment. I fell in love with the characters, I really cared about what happened to them. This is a truly satisfying read and I’m still smiling.”

“We follow Anji’s journey through a poetic and metaphysical lens. Singh deliciously presents us with a story that explores Anji's deepest thoughts and hopes. Starting in the realm of dreams whilst tiptoeing towards experiences of what love means, unfulfillment, the perils of finding one’s soulmate and the world of spirituality.”

“Being a true believer in soulmates and twin flames, Lonely Dove captured my heart from the opening pages. I enjoyed every stage of this debut novel by Sonee Singh, as I walked beside the self-doubting, loveable protagonist Anji, as she bravely stepped forward and embraced her journey of self-discovery and self-worth in her quest to find her soulmate.
Lonely Dove is not just a novel of the search for ‘Happy Ever After’, but is filled with empowering messages, relatable, quirky characters, and thought-provoking insight for the reader to consider the importance of self-love and self-acceptance, above any other love.
Lonely Dove is enriched in cultural diversity, and Singh masterfully guided me on a cultural celebration where spices drifted from the pages with her artful descriptions of Indian and Colombian cuisines that had my mouth watering. Peace and purpose were two words that came to me often as I read this novel.”

“Lonely Dove carries a beautiful energy through every page and had me captivated from the first chapter. I found the themes and storyline very relatable, and it evoked strong emotions as I read. It is a universal story that explores complexity in relationships and the importance of trusting our intuition. It is also about universal timing and spiritual growth. Sonee’s writing is powerfully descriptive and shows deep spiritual understanding and cultural awareness. This novel effectively communicates the burden of expectations as well as the heartache of breaking traditions. Lonely Dove is a timeless love story that has depth and meaning. There are also a few surprises to keep the reader intrigued. This book needs to be on your ‘must read’ list.”

“Lonely Dove by Sonee Singh revolves around Anji, a journalist who first seeks guidance from a lucid dreaming expert, Danny, that ultimately leads her on a spiritual journey of self-discovery. Along the way, she encounters various men, including Donovan, who helps her but has his own demons to battle, and Nic, a man who tests the boundaries of their cultural differences. As Anji reflects on her past experiences and cultural identity, she seeks further advice from Margarita, her spiritual counselor, and contemplates her feelings for her engaged friend William. Anji's understanding of love requires a reboot. Learning to trust her deep intuition, embracing her uniqueness, and finding healing and self-acceptance are the ingredients required for a fulfilling connection to her twin flame, whoever he is, and if she can even find him.
Lonely Dove by Sonee Singh is an engaging combination of women's fiction and mysticism that is, at the soul of its story, a true work of literary fiction. The writing is clean and immersive, and for me, Anji is at her strongest when she is seeking spiritual guidance and listening to what she is being shown by the universe. I wasn't thrilled with Anji's outdated and a tad doctrinaire obsession with marriage as the end goal. Still, as an American woman myself who is part Asian, married to a South Asian, and raising children in a hybrid world, I understand that culture and contemporary principles do not always align. I adored the injection of Colombia. Anji's life experiences are so important to who she is as a character and Singh develops her beautifully. The food, the spiritual influence, the self-discovery, the career ambitions, and the love of love are represented with expert prose and Singh gives the world a book worth a read. Recommended.”⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars Reviewed by Jamie Michele
